• Mr. Diallo est très contente de recommencer la distribution des légumes à Conakry. Il constate qu'il peut commencer la distribution au temps de la récolte, ou le mois de Janvier ;
• Mr. Diallo ferait la distribution chaque deux semaines ; 
• Nous serions a Conakry le 21-22 Novembre pour vous rencontrer et Mr. Diallo vous expliquerai comment le système marcherait ; 
• Chacun de vous ferait votre commande individuellement selon vos besoins et désires et par légume. Mr. Diallo va vous indiquer les prix/quantités des légumes de qu'il viens le mois de Novembre ;
• Avec chaque distribution, Mr. Diallo prendrait vos commandes pour la prochaine commande. Dans la passé, chaque "centre de distribution" (i.e. les ambassades, les institutions internationaux, etc.), ciblait un "chef" qui prendrait les commandes de tous dans le même bureau, et après, il communiquerait les commandes a Mr. Diallo. Peut être ça c'est un processus que vous pouvez faire entre vous selon la-ou vous travaillez, et de qu'on arrive a CKY le mois de Novembre, vous pouvez nous indiquer quoi vous avez arrêté pour mieux définir les filières de communication ;
• Volontaire du Corps de la Paix, Anna Petersons, a donné beaucoup de semence des légumes exotiques a Mr. Diallo hier, incluant: les épinards, le soya, les fraises, le kholrabi, le choux fleur, le brocoli, le kale, bok choy, kim chi, les radis, et plusieurs herbes (pardon la translation), etc. Si vous avez les connections ou vous voulez donner le semence, Mr. Diallo les accepterait et les planterait avec plaisir! Vous pouvez me contacter si oui, et nous ferrons l'exchange. 

En plus que Mr. Diallo, nous avons identifié quelques cultivateurs aussi qui vont augmenter la production/distribution de Mr. Diallo. Un fait la cultivation complètement BIO a Kindia, et c'est possible qu'il aura le produit avant Janvier.

Hello Friends!

Thank you all for your patience and eager excitement about fresh produce from Dalaba. I apologize for the delay in our follow-up---things were slightly on hold this month with the elections, etc. 

We met with Mr. Diallo yesterday as he was in the thick of preparing the fields for some serious planting. Here are some key take-aways from our meeting:

• Mr. Diallo is very excited to re-start distribution as soon as harvesting time arrives, which looks to be around January. 
• Before then, we are planning a trip to Conakry for November 21-22 to visit you and to give Mr. Diallo the opportunity to meet and share how the system will work. 
• For the time being, the ordering/delivery system will take place according to how Mr. Diallo used to conduct it. Key points:
• M. Diallo will deliver produce every two weeks;
• Each of you will individually order based on individual quantity/type of vegetable you desire, the prices of which Mr. Diallo will let you know in November;
• With each delivery, Mr. Diallo will physically take your orders for the next delivery. In the past, each "distribution center" (i.e. the embassies, larger international NGOs, etc.) targeted one person to take the orders of everyone, who would then communicate it to Mr. Diallo. Perhaps this is a process you all can begin/conduct internally based on where you work, and come our November visit, we can streamline communication logistics.
• Peace Corps Volunteer Anna graciously supplied Mr. Diallo with a plethora of diverse seeds to increase produce variety, including: arugula, soy beans, kohlrabi, cauliflower, long red-beans (a different "green bean" variety), kale, strawberries, bok choy, radishes and a tasteful array of spices, including lavender. If any of you have access to seeds, Mr. Diallo is very experienced and would gratefully accept the chance to grow just about anything. Let me know, if so.

I know many of you suggested a CSA-style delivery, but for the time being, we decided to begin with the system Mr. Diallo is familiar with (for sustainability's sake---this should work without the presence of a volunteer). As time goes on, if the system does not appear to be running well, we will work to make necessary changes to improve. I am still in Guinea for the time being to field any/all suggestions.

In addition to Mr. Diallo, we have also identified a few farmers who have excellent produce, one of whom is conducting all-organic practices in Kindia. We are in the process of working with him to supplement the work of Mr. Diallo, and hopefully offer vegetable delivery more frequently than twice a month---perhaps even before January!
